The “LAW ON PROTECTION OF PERSONAL DATA” numbered 6698 was published in the Official Gazette dated 07.04.2016 and numbered 29677. With this law, website owners have become “Data Controllers” and have also taken on certain obligations. We asked our company’s lawyer Av. Esin Tunceroğlu Göçgeldi for a summary of the topic:

Do you know the responsibilities that the “Law on Protection of Personal Data” accepted by the Grand National Assembly of Turkey brings to you, enacted to protect fundamental rights and freedoms of individuals, especially the privacy of private life, in the processing of personal data, and to regulate the obligations of real and legal persons processing personal data and the procedures and principles they must follow?

Under this law, you are now required to state the purpose for which you are requesting users’ personal information when collecting it. You cannot process personal information without the person’s explicit consent, and you have the obligation to delete, destroy, or anonymize personal data processed in accordance with the provisions of this and other laws, ex officio or upon the request of the relevant person. One of the most important points of the law is that you can no longer store personal data in data centers located abroad without the person’s consent.

Those who fail to fulfill the data security obligations of the law on protection of personal data enacted in this process will be subject to administrative fines ranging from 15,000 Turkish Liras to 1,000,000 Turkish Liras.

• If you are not a company and cannot issue an invoice, an expense receipt needs to be prepared to send the earned payment to your bank account. Taxes related to this expense receipt will be deducted from the payment sent to you.

Popular Linux distributions Ubuntu and CentOS are now available at Netinternet speed. To use Netinternet’s mirror service, simply follow the steps below.

Ubuntu:

Netinternet mirror service is open to general use. You can use our mirror service regardless of your location and service provider. Choosing a server close to your location will improve the quality of service you receive. Official mirror server registration has been made for Ubuntu and CentOS.

As is known, IPv4 addresses can no longer be obtained through RIPE (European Network Coordination Centre), of which we are a member. For this reason, we have decided to expand the scope of the procedures we apply for IPv4 distribution, as they were causing business losses for our customers. Accordingly, customers receiving our Virtual Data Center service can obtain as many IPv4 addresses as they want at a price, while customers receiving Server Hosting and Server Rental services can obtain up to twice the current IPv4 distribution quota from our company. Customers who need more IPv4 addresses for special reasons can also request additional IPv4 addresses by stating their special reasons.

Due to increasing demand, our company has started obtaining IPv4 allocations from RIPE member companies in Europe to meet our customers’ IPv4 needs and prevent them from experiencing business losses due to IPv4 shortage.
