Dear Customers,

Oracle has discontinued support for MySQL 5.1 as of January 31, 2013. With this decision by Oracle, cPanel has also announced that MySQL 5.1 will no longer be supported in their new versions. cPanel will completely remove MySQL 5.1 support with version 11.44.

cPanel will continue to support MySQL 5.1 in version 11.42 to avoid issues for users and to allow time for the transition. Since cPanel will release version 11.44 in May or June, it would be healthy to make the necessary preparations for the migration within this time.

You can update the MySQL version on your server by following these steps in WHM panel:

WHM > Software > MySQL Upgrade

At the “Career Days” event organized annually between April 1-7 at Denizli Commerce Vocational High School to bring together graduates who have built careers in their fields with students, our General Manager Osman MAKAL participated as a speaker, gave a seminar to students, and answered their questions about the business world.

In some cases, you may encounter the following error when trying to log in to the WHM panel:

failed to open session lockfile:

No such file or directory at /usr/local/cpanel/Cpanel/Session.pm line 261, line 2.

If the error is as above, the problem is generally caused by the INODE limit being full. Connect to the server via SSH and use the following commands to check the INODE limit and resolve the issue.

df -i

This command shows the INODE usage on the server.

for i in /*; do echo $i; find $i |wc -l; done

This command shows INODE usage per directory. Make the necessary adjustments on accounts that exceed the limit to resolve the issue.

Through the WHM panel, you can create packages for your sites on the server and host sites within the limits defined by these packages. Packages allow you to set specific limits, so you don’t have to configure all limits from scratch every time you create a new account. Simply selecting a pre-created package will be sufficient.

Creating a Package

After logging into WHM panel, select Add a Package under the “Package” section in the left menu. On the page that appears, you will see options such as disk limit, bandwidth limit, email account limit, and FTP user limit. At the top of the page, you can name your package and set the limits as desired. After configuring your settings, click the “Add” button at the bottom of the page to create the package.

You can assign reseller privileges to an active or newly created account in WHM and define which operations the reseller can perform. Within the limits and permissions you set, the reseller account can also create packages and open new accounts associated with those packages.

Reseller Privileges

In the WHM panel left menu, find the “Reseller Center” section. After entering this section, select the domain you want to grant reseller privileges to from the list at the top of the screen and click “OK”.

After granting reseller privileges, you need to set the permissions and limits for this user. Go to Edit Privileges/Nameservers at the bottom left of the same screen to set limits and permissions.

On the screen that appears, set the desired disk quota and bandwidth limit. The “Limit the total number of accounts … can create to 0 accounts” field at the top determines the account creation limit for this reseller.

After setting these limits, configure the permissions at the bottom of the same page as desired. Be careful not to grant “Root Access” at the bottom — if granted, the reseller user can perform any operation on the server with root privileges.

If the reseller wants to use their own nameservers, enter the nameserver information in the nameserver editing section at the very bottom of the page. When saved, every new account opened by the reseller will automatically use their nameserver information.

If you want to open an account for a new domain in your WHM panel, you can do this from the “Create a New Account” section under Account Functions. After opening a new host service for a domain, you can connect via FTP, upload your site files to the server, and begin the installation process.

Creating a New Account

Go to “Create a New Account” under the Account Functions section in your WHM panel. On the screen that appears, first fill in your domain information. When you enter the domain name, the system will automatically suggest a username. You can use this auto-generated username or provide a new one. Two rules to note: cPanel does not accept more than 8 characters and does not allow punctuation marks. After providing a valid username, set a password. We recommend using a strong password to prevent bot-based hacking.

After filling in these fields, select one of the active packages on your server from the Choose a Package section below and associate it with the new account. After configuring reseller settings, DNS settings, and mail settings at the bottom, click the Create button at the very bottom to activate the account.

WHMSonic is a plugin that can be easily used through cPanel for hosting companies or individuals who want to broadcast Shoutcast radio from their servers. WHMSonic is licensed software. You can order the license for the plugin from our panel.

To install, log in to your server via SSH as root and run the following commands:

cd /root/

rm -f installr.sh

wget http://www.whmsonic.com/setupr/installr.sh

chmod +x installr.sh

sh installr.sh

When installation is complete, you can see the WHMSonic plugin under the Plugins section in WHM panel. After completing the licensing process, you can use the plugin for radio broadcasting.
